/ 1073 days agoI used to build model cars when I was a lot younger and one of my childhood memories is spilling paint thinner on the living room floor and being yelled at by my mom… oh well, shit happens I guess!

This is an unbuilt original Jerry Only kit made by Sabre Inc (the Misfits company that made blades) and was sold through the fiend club immediately after the band settled their lawsuit with Danzig. The kit comes with an embossed COA signed by Jerry & Doyle’s brother Ken, who ran the kit business and managed the band. This is number 8 in a run of 200, although I’m told that the full edition of 200 was not ever manufactured due to slow sales and the cost of making new molds. Not surprising as this had a $150 price tag in 1994! This clearly makes it one of the rarest licensed Misfits items ever! I’ve heard, but have not been able to confirm, that this is a William Paquet sculpt, but maybe someone can confirm or deny. I also have some pics taken at the chiller show where this was sold = Jerry posed in the positon of the kit for paint reference. I haven’t located them, but if I can find them I’ll include them. The box is a plain cardboard box with stickers applied as seen in the scan. The box is stained, not sure why – this is the condition it was in when I bought it. As noted in the Misfits Fan Club newsletter, this piece sold for $150 at the time of release. Here’s some more info from Ugly Things Magazine: “I was also there for the next Chiller Convention in April. This time the Misfits presence expanded to include both Jerry and Doyle and a huge cemetery exhibit (constructed by “other” Caiafa brother, Kenny, who is also the band’s manager). The convention also debuted a new line of high quality Misfits merchandise including two new T-shirts, the Earth AD wall plaque, and the amazing 18 inch tall Jerry Only resin model kit (a Doyle model is in the works).”
